Dearest Moomins,
There will be a time, as we venture North, that pictures of beaches and beachy views become few and far between.
That time is not now, enjoy!
Horrocks → Kalbarri
Port Gregory
Not the usual thing I would stop for on a drive, but I thought it looked interesting…

Established in 1853, it housed convicts who mined nearby.
Turns out I’m not always right. Not interesting at all.

Thank Odin for jetties, making up for the hideous coffee I was served at the local servo.
Kalbarri National Park
Not my usual cup of tea, but it was on the way, and I had a little time to kill before check-in.

Or, as Adele would say…
“Hello, from the other side”

Feeling a little like I had looked out to death it was finally time to get to the campsite.
Kalbarri Anchorage Holiday Park
And cue the largest storm that Perth was to expect this year, starting to come in from…
You guessed it Kalbarri.

I think we all know by now how much I love the rain; however, it did afford me the chance to make a new friend.
With nothing else to do other than laundry I found myself chatting, no, being interviewed by, no, I was definitely being interrogated by a lady called Steph.
I didn’t know there was another person who could ask as many questions as me.
She interrogated me that much I completed my washing, she completed hers and so did three other families.
We became friends pretty quickly and she even allowed me to entertain her children in the swimming pool.
Stay safe everybody, until next time XOXO
Don’t be fooled, the weather hadn’t drastically improved we just went in anyways.
Absolute highlight of the weekend for me was learning that she lived in a place called Mingenew.
If you don’t find that funny, stop reading my blog right now.
They say it Min-en-ew, but I know the truth.
Kalbarri
Of course, this was a time when I still cared about my waistline, and so off I went for a run.
Get comfy, Kalbarri has more jetties than I have seen before in one place.

And very briefly, on my penultimate day, the sun shined.

And then it didn’t.
Of course on the day I was leaving the side effects of the storm were that the surf was amazing, if you were mental enough to go out there.
I wasn’t.

And here my time in Kalbarri was at an end. Another surf town unsurfable due to bad weather and my lack of kamikaze skills, I’m sure my luck will change soon enough.
Exhausted (Foo Fighters – 1995)
Hey guys, it’s been a while since my last post.
In all honesty I’m absolutely exhausted and so have taken a little time out from writing.
I’m currently staying with a friend and her family, which is allowing me some much-needed downtime and hopefully some time to catch up on destinations visited.
Stay safe out there, until next time. XOXO
